Graciela & Mattew's Ottawa Wedding by Joey Rudd Photography

Graciela & Matthew had an intimate "elopement" style wedding a couple of weeks ago at the Arboretum in Ottawa. Accompanied by just a few friends this couple said their vows in the beautiful landscape of the Arboretum. Keith from Exceptional Ceremonies performed the officiating and I had the privilege of capturing memories for this wonderful couple at both the Arboretum as well as Major's Hill Park. They wanted to get some memories of Ottawa since they will be moving abroad soon. What a lovely day it was! Here is a snapshot of it.

Prisming by Joey Rudd Photography

Last month I ordered a piece of equipment for our photography business that was a bit unusual. It wasn't a camera body, it wasn't a lens or a flash or any other piece of equipment you would traditionally find in a camera bag. It was a small prism that I can use to bend light or create interesting effects within images. This process is called Prisming. I must give credit to the incredible Sam Hurd for this idea.

I got to play with it for a little while before bringing it along to a session. Here is a shot I got the other day of Natalie and Eleanorah.

There are so many different ways in which a prism can enrich an image and I look forward to discovering them with couples along the way. This is a shot from Graciela & Matthew's recent wedding where I first broke out the prism.
