2021 was quite a year. Originally starting out similar to 2020 it ended up being a one of a kind season. Despite being the roller coaster of a ride that it was, it was full of incredible couples and beautiful moments that I was so honoured to be able to capture. Here are a few of my favourites from this year and a handful from 2020 since I never got around to posting my favourites from then.
Myriam & Aren's Wedding by Joey Rudd Photography
Similar to so many other couples this year, Myriam and Aren had to change their plans for their wedding many times. This included changes that they had to make the day before as new COVID restrictions came into place as they were at their rehearsal the evening before. But through it all these two kept their spirits up and pushed on. Their wedding may have ended up being more intimate than they originally planned and hoped, but it was still perfect!
Surrounded by their families, these two tied the knot and took the next step in their journey together at a cute little farm on the outskirts of Ottawa. Lovely weather and beautiful people were just a couple aspects of their perfect day. Since the farm was only a few minutes away from my place, they even took a trip out to a pond on our property for some photos! It was fun to use it for a wedding and my girls were excited to wave from the front porch as we drove by.

Ariane & Moataz' Winter Wedding at Strathmere by Joey Rudd Photography
With everything that is going on right now in the world, take some time to check out something beautiful instead!
Ariane & Moataz had their wedding on a beautiful winter day at Strathmere last month. I was so honoured to document their day for them and was grateful to have had such wonderful talent join me for the day. (Ryan from Rubicon Photography!)
When I met Ariane & Moataz a few months ago I know that we would be a good match and their fun engagement session up at Mackenzie King Estate only confirmed that more! Their friendly, creative, and fun-loving personalities made them such a joy to work with. I appreciated the fact that they not only trusted me to accurately document their wedding in a way that told the story of their day, but also gave me (encouraged me) to go “all-out” creatively.
Ariane & Moataz’s families were such a joy to work with as well. You can see how much they love an support their newly married children and I swear that Moataz’s mother Muna has one of the most beautiful smiles that I have ever photographed!
Erica from Weddings by Erica Lynn helped coordinate their day and between her and the staff at Strathmere, Ariane & Moataz’s day was perfect, timely, and fun! Lynne for Exceptional Ceremonies was fantastic as always! The food was delicious and Driftwood Music kept the party lively and exciting!
What a great team, what a great time! It is always fun to work with such great professionals, but most importantly to work with such wonderful, creative, and fun couples who trust me!
Enjoy this break from Covid-19 news!
